What to Do After You Buy an Account: 7 Steps to Keep It Safe
Change the password, recovery email and 2FA, and avoid the mistakes that get new accounts locked.
The first 48 hours after you receive an account matter most. Platforms watch for sudden changes in location, device and behaviour. These seven steps keep the account yours and lower the chance of a lock.
1. Log in from one device and network
Use a single phone or computer for the first login. Avoid switching between many devices or VPN locations on day one.
2. Change the password
Pick a long, unique password you do not use anywhere else. A password manager makes this easy.
3. Change the recovery email and phone
If the account came with its original email, change the account email to your own, then update the recovery phone. This is what stops anyone else from resetting the password later.
4. Turn on two-factor authentication
Use an authenticator app rather than SMS where possible. Save the backup codes somewhere safe.
5. Log out of other sessions
Most platforms have a "log out of all other devices" option in security settings. Use it once you have changed the password.
6. Go slow for the first days
Do not change the username, bio, profile picture and niche all on the same day, and do not start mass following or posting straight away. Make changes gradually over a week.
7. Keep your order details
Keep the order page with the delivered details. If something goes wrong in the first days, you can open a dispute from that page.
